Written from a catalogue
Prescription items are chosen from a drug catalogue held in the clinic workspace rather than typed as free text, so the same medicine is named the same way every time.
Each item carries what the patient needs to follow it, and the prescription belongs to the visit it was written at.
Check allergies first
Allergies recorded on the patient are part of the record precisely so they are visible when prescribing. Record them on the patient rather than in a note.

Printing
A prescription prints to A4 for the patient to carry to a pharmacy.
The printed copy is rendered from the stored prescription, so a reprint later shows exactly what was issued.
Common questions
- Can I add a medicine that is not in the catalogue?
- The catalogue is what prescriptions are written from. If something is missing, it belongs in the catalogue so every prescriber gets it consistently.
- Can I reprint an old prescription?
- Yes. Prescriptions stay on the visit and the patient record, and print from the stored record.
